Shirley and her partner, Tim Martens, are avid DIYers, having completed extensive maintenance and upgrades on Ariose, their 1969 Alberg 30. Recently retired, they weighed anchor for their off-grid terrestrial life in northern Ontario, Canada, and have moved aboard to enjoy the next few years of continued off-grid life at sea.
