    Dan Smith

    Dan Smith boarded a coal freighter as deckhand in Toledo four days after graduation from high school. His sailboats have included a Snipe, a Flying Scot, a Morgan 22, a Dickerson 35, and an Allied Seawind 30. Hurricane Andrew destroyed Kohinoor, the Seawind, in 1992. Dan bought a Marshall catboat and enjoys winters gunkholing in the Florida Keys.
