Angus Primrose
Angus Primrose (1944-1980) was a talented British yacht designer tragically lost at sea during the 1980 Observer Single-handed Trans-Atlantic Race (OSTAR). A partner in the design firm Primrose/Parker, he created innovative multihulls and monohulls emphasizing lightweight construction and high performance. His designs included successful racing trimarans and the revolutionary Monocoque series of light-displacement cruiser-racers. Primrose was sailing his own design, the 37-foot trimaran Demon Demo, when he disappeared in the Atlantic. Despite his short career, Primrose influenced British yacht design through his innovative approach to lightweight construction and performance-oriented cruising yachts. His partner Rodney Parker continued their design firm after his death.
