Alan Andrews

Alan Andrews is a renowned American yacht designer and president of Alan Andrews Yacht Design, founded in 1979. A Stanford University graduate in Mechanical Engineering and former All-American sailor, Andrews specializes in high-performance racing and cruising sailing yachts. His designs combine competitive sailing characteristics with solid engineering, resulting in boats with lifespans that outlast current racing rules. Notable achievements include Details (1982 MORC International Championships winner) and Allegiance (1984 SORC winner). His designs have won prestigious events including the Kenwood Cup, StFYC Big Boat Series, and multiple Transpac victories. Andrews serves as technical adviser to Transpacific Yacht Club and has served on the US IMS Committee.
