Description
The Sovereign Adventure 23 is an American trailerable sailboat designed as a versatile daysailer and pocket cruiser, suitable for solo, couple, or family use on small lakes, bays, or protected coastal waters. It features a fiberglass monohull with a fin keel and transom-hung rudder for stable, responsive handling, a narrow beam for easy trailering, and a masthead sloop rig for light-air performance and simplicity. The design prioritizes portability with a low displacement/length ratio for quick acceleration and a moderate ballast ratio for stiffness in gusts, though it's tender in heavier winds and best for inland/coastal use. The Sovereign Adventure 23 was designed by Arthur Edmunds and first built in 1981 by Custom Fiberglass Products (under the Sovereign Yachts brand) in the United States. It emerged during the early 1980s trailerable sailboat boom, sharing hull molds with the Sovereign 23/24 and S2 7.0, targeting beginners and recreational sailors with its lightweight, easy-to-launch construction.
