Reinell 26
Description
The Reinell 26 is a compact American cruising sailboat designed by Arthur S. Henry and constructed by Reinell Boat Works beginning in 1975. This 25.67-foot vessel represents a strategic collaboration between Reinell (traditionally a Pacific Northwest powerboat manufacturer) and naval architect Arthur S. Henry, who was also president of American Mariner Industries (AMI). The Reinell 26 is effectively a sibling to the American 26, as both vessels were produced from the same hull molds, allowing Reinell to enter the sailing segment with a proven design. Built with fiberglass construction during Reinell's transition to modern materials, the boat was marketed as a versatile coastal cruiser that balanced trailerability requirements with the comforts of a much larger vessel. The design features a masthead sloop rig with a retractable swing keel configuration that significantly reduces draft for trailering and shallow-water exploration, making it an ideal choice for sailors seeking adventure in diverse cruising grounds.
