Mini Cup

Description

The Mini-Cup (often written as Mini-Cup or MINI-CUP) by Stevenson Projects is a delightful, ultra-compact 12-foot plywood daysailer/dinghy that's been a favorite for beginner builders and fun-loving sailors since it was featured in Popular Science magazine. It's a fast-handling, "wet-and-wild" little sport boat designed for maximum excitement with minimal cost and complexity—perfect for first-time sailors, teaching kids, solo adventures, or anyone wanting a lot of performance on a tiny budget. This is a true micro-sailer: lightweight, car-toppable, beach-launchable, and built from simple plywood sheets using basic stitch-and-glue or wood/glue/screw methods. Many builders finish it in a month or less (some in 42 hours!), and it's rugged enough for years of fun on lakes, rivers, or protected bays. Stevenson Projects calls it one of their personal favorites, with fond memories of childhood summers sailing it.
