Mariner 19 (O'Day Mariner
Description
The O'Day Mariner 19 is a classic trailerable sailboat designed by renowned naval architect Philip L. Rhodes and introduced by O'Day Corp. in 1963 as one of the first affordable fiberglass family daysailers. Based on the hull of the open Rhodes 19 racer (itself a 1945 design), O'Day added a small cuddy cabin for shelter, transforming it into a versatile pocket cruiser. Over 3,300 units were built by O'Day through 1979, making it a bestseller in club racing, lake sailing, and coastal outings. In 1980, molds were sold to Rebel Industries (producing 76 as the Spindrift One with a modified cabin) and later to Stuart Marine (Rockland, ME), who continues limited production today.
