Bristol Yachts
Bristol Yachts, founded in 1966 in Bristol, Rhode Island, was a premier American production yacht builder known for quality construction and classic designs. Working with designers including Ted Hood, Halsey Herreshoff, and Ted Fontaine, Bristol produced a range of sailboats from 19 to 65 feet. Notable models include the Bristol 40, designed by Ted Hood, which became one of the most successful cruiser-racers of its era. Bristol boats were known for excellent build quality, traditional New England craftsmanship, and timeless designs that balanced performance with comfort. The company built approximately 3,600 boats before closing in 1997, leaving a legacy of well-built, highly regarded yachts.
