Chrysler Yachts
Chrysler Marine, a division of Chrysler Corporation, produced sailboats from 1965 to 1978 as part of their diversification into recreational products. Working with designers including Halsey Herreshoff, Doug Peterson, and others, Chrysler built various models from small day sailors to larger cruisers. Notable designs included the Chrysler 26, designed by Halsey Herreshoff, which became popular for its performance and quality construction. Chrysler brought automotive manufacturing expertise to boat construction, achieving high build quality and innovative production techniques. Though their sailboat production was relatively brief, Chrysler boats gained a reputation for solid construction and good sailing characteristics.
