Bavaria Yachts, founded in 1978 in Bavaria, Germany, became one of Europe's largest production yacht manufacturers. While primarily a builder, Bavaria worked with designers including J&J Design and Farr Yacht Design to create their extensive range of sailing yachts from 30 to 57 feet. Bavaria revolutionized European yacht production through efficient manufacturing, making quality cruising yachts more affordable. Their boats emphasized spacious interiors, modern styling, and ease of handling. Despite filing for bankruptcy in 2018 and subsequent restructuring, Bavaria produced over 40,000 boats during four decades, significantly impacting the accessibility of recreational sailing in Europe and worldwide.
