Halsey Herreshoff

Halsey Chase Herreshoff (1930-2011) was an American yacht designer and member of the famous Herreshoff design family. Son of L. Francis Herreshoff, Halsey designed various successful boats including the Herreshoff 28, Etchells 22, and boats for Chrysler Marine. He worked for several yacht manufacturers while maintaining the family tradition of elegant design and attention to detail. Notable designs include the popular Chrysler 26 and various custom yachts. Halsey represented the third generation of Herreshoff designers, maintaining the family's reputation for creating beautiful, well-engineered boats while adapting to modern construction methods and market demands.
