Bjarne Aas
Bjarne Aas (1886-1970) was Norway's most celebrated yacht designer and boatbuilder, known for his elegant designs and exceptional craftsmanship. Operating from his yard in Fredrikstad, Aas designed and built over 800 boats including numerous Dragon class yachts, International One Designs, and custom racing yachts. His designs dominated Scandinavian and international racing, with his Dragons winning multiple Olympic medals and world championships. Aas combined traditional Norwegian boatbuilding skills with innovative design ideas, creating boats renowned for their speed, beauty, and quality.
