Ian Bruce
Ian Bruce was a Canadian designer and entrepreneur who created the Laser dinghy in collaboration with Bruce Kirby. While Kirby designed the boat, Bruce was instrumental in developing it into a successful one-design class and building the manufacturing operation. The Laser became the world's most popular single-handed dinghy and an Olympic class. Bruce's contributions to making the Laser a global success helped establish it as one of sailing's most important training and racing boats, introducing millions to competitive sailing.
