Bill Shaw

Bill Shaw (1928-1995) was chief designer for Pearson Yachts from 1959 to 1990, creating over 40 successful production designs that helped define American fiberglass yacht construction. Shaw's designs included the revolutionary Pearson Triton (1959), one of the first successful fiberglass production boats, and numerous other models from 22 to 43 feet. His boats balanced performance with comfort, featuring moderate displacement, good sailing characteristics, and practical interiors. Shaw pioneered many construction techniques that became industry standards and helped establish Pearson as America's leading production builder for decades. His designs remain popular classics, valued for their solid construction and timeless appeal.
