Catalina

Catalina Yachts, founded by Frank Butler in 1969 in California, became America's largest sailboat manufacturer. Starting with the Catalina 22 designed by Frank Butler, the company revolutionized affordable sailing through efficient production methods and practical designs. Notable models include the C-22 (over 15,000 built), C-25, C-27, C-30, C-34, and larger cruising models. Catalina boats are characterized by spacious interiors, ease of handling, and good value for recreational sailing. Working with designers including Gerry Douglas and later in-house design teams, Catalina has produced over 70,000 boats, making sailing accessible to more people than perhaps any other manufacturer. The company continues operations today as one of the few remaining large American sailboat manufacturers.
