Cal Boats

Cal Boats (California Yacht Corporation) was a pioneering American fiberglass yacht manufacturer operating from 1959 to 1989. Founded by Jack Jensen and working primarily with designer Bill Lapworth, Cal revolutionized yacht construction with their innovative use of fiberglass and modern production techniques. The famous Cal 40 (1963) became the most successful ocean racing yacht of its era, winning countless races and influencing yacht design for decades. Other notable models included the Cal 20, 25, 28, and 48. Cal boats were known for their performance orientation, quality construction, and racing success. The company helped establish Southern California as a center of innovative yacht design and construction.
