Wylie Design Team, officially known as Wylie Design Group, is a California-based yacht design firm led by Tom Wylie, a prominent naval architect with over 40 years of experience and more than 60 designs to his credit. Founded by Tom Wylie, who gained empirical education through competing in 50,000 miles of notable races including The Transpac, Admirals Cup, and Fastnet, the firm has developed a diverse repertoire of ocean racers, global voyagers, and commercial workboats. Wylie Design Group is renowned for pioneering Ultralight Displacement Boat design and construction, developing cold molding technology, and creating the innovative Wyliecat series - cat-rigged sloops and ketches with unstayed carbon masts that have won two Boat-of-the-Year awards.
