Cape Cod Shipbuilding Company, founded in 1899 in Wareham, Massachusetts, is one of America's oldest continuous boat manufacturers. Famous for the iconic Beetle Cat, first built in 1921, the company has produced thousands of traditional New England small boats. The Beetle Cat became synonymous with sailing instruction and family sailing throughout New England. Cape Cod Shipbuilding also produces other traditional designs including the Herreshoff 12½, various rowing skiffs, and modern fiberglass versions of classic designs.
