Classic Marine
Classic Yachts Inc. (based in Chanute, Kansas, USA) was a small fiberglass sailboat builder founded by John Heaton in 1988. Heaton had previously been a dealer for Laguna Yachts (which folded in 1986) and Gloucester Yachts (which ended in 1988). He acquired molds and tooling from those lines and produced a limited run of boats under the "Classic" name until the company ceased operations after a factory fire in 2000.
The company built only three main sailboat models, all designed by W. Shad Turner and based on existing molds from prior builders (primarily Laguna and Gloucester/Lockley-Newport lines). Production numbers were low due to the niche market and short lifespan.
