Shing Fa Boatbuilding Co., Ltd

Shing Fa (also spelled Shin Fa or Shing Fa Libre Boat Building) was the primary yard for all early Hans Christian models (33, 34, 36, 38T, 41T, 43) during the golden Taiwanese era. They built the HC-36 by literally cutting the original HC-34 mold in two and inserting a 6-foot plug amidships — a modification done entirely in-house at Shing Fa without Robert Perry’s approval. Every HC-36 hull carries the Shing Fa builder’s plate in the cockpit or on the companionway bulkhead.
After hull #62 (approx. 1985), Shing Fa stretched the same modified mold again into the HC-38T and stopped offering the 36. No other yard (not Horng Bin, not Pantawee, not Andersen) ever built the HC-36 — it remains exclusively a Shing Fa product.
