Fastnet Marine (UK)

Fastnet Marine (UK) was a small, short-lived British boatbuilder founded in 1973 in Hamble, Hampshire, by David Sadler (designer) and Colin Chapman (builder), dedicated to producing seaworthy fiberglass cruising sloops for the post-Fastnet Race era. The company’s sole model, the Fastnet 34 (designed by Jean Marie Finot), was launched in 1974 as a fin-keel, skeg-rudder offshore cruiser with moderate displacement, balanced helm, and family-friendly accommodations (6 berths, U-galley, enclosed head). Built with hand-laid GRP, balsa-cored decks, and iron ballast, only ~42 hulls were completed before production ceased in 1980 due to economic pressures.
