Kells Corp.

Kells Corporation was a small American boatbuilding company based in Tiverton, Rhode Island, active in the 1970s, specializing in compact, trailerable fiberglass sailboats designed for coastal cruising and family day sailing. Known for producing affordable, practical vessels, Kells focused on lightweight designs with swing or fixed keels, emphasizing ease of handling and shallow-water access for recreational sailors. The company's primary models, such as the Kells 23 and Kells 22, were designed by naval architect Paul A. Lindh, offering simple layouts with cuddy cabins for basic accommodations. With an estimated production of 200–300 boats, Kells catered to the 1970s sailing boom but was short-lived due to economic pressures and competition from larger manufacturers like Catalina.
