TPI Composites
TPI Composites, originally founded as Tillotson-Pearson, Inc. in 1968 by brothers Everett and Clinton Pearson, is a leading American manufacturer of advanced composite products, initially specializing in fiberglass sailboats and later diversifying into wind turbine blades and transportation components. Renowned in the marine industry for pioneering resin-infusion and vacuum-bagging techniques, TPI built thousands of high-performance sailboats under brands like J/Boats, Alerion Yachts, SR Boats, and others, emphasizing lightweight, durable construction. From the 1980s, TPI expanded into industrial composites, becoming a global leader in wind blades by the 2000s, with facilities in the USA, Mexico, Europe, and Asia. The marine division, active through the 1990s, produced iconic models like the J/24 and Alerion Express series.
