Bayfield Boat Yard

Bayfield Boat Yard was a Canadian sailboat manufacturer renowned for producing fiberglass cruising yachts with traditional, classic lines—featuring clipper bows, long keels, bowsprits, and wooden accents like trailboards and taffrails. Based initially in Bayfield, Ontario, and later in Clinton (Vanastra), the yard targeted family cruisers and blue water sailors seeking seaworthy, aesthetically pleasing vessels that evoked wooden ship heritage while using modern materials. Designs emphasized stability, comfort, and ease of handling over outright speed, making them popular on the Great Lakes and for coastal/offshore voyages. The company produced over 700 boats before closing in 1988.
