Ouyang Boat Works
Ouyang Boat Works (OBW) was a prominent Canadian fiberglass sailboat manufacturer based in Midland, Ontario, operating from 1972 to 1986 under the leadership of Alois Ouyang (pronounced “O-yang”). Originally founded as a custom boatbuilding shop, it evolved into a production builder of high-quality performance cruisers and racer-cruisers, most notably under the Whitby Boat Works branding after a 1977 partnership, though early boats carried the OBW or Alois Ouyang name. The company gained fame for innovative designs, robust hand-laid construction, and racing success, producing several iconic models before closing due to economic pressures in the mid-1980s.
