Description

Klaus Metz designed the Mebo 12 to be beautiful yet practical — combining the aesthetics of premium nesting dinghies with simple amateur construction. It prioritizes versatility (sail/row/motor), easy trailering/storage, and camp-cruising capability (storage, sleeping platform, buoyancy). Many builders add custom touches like a Hobie-style roller rig or graphite bottom coatings. Plans are available directly from Metz Boats (metzboats.de). Some kit options or pre-cut plywood panels are offered through partners like Fyne Boat Kits (UK). There are numerous builder videos on YouTube showing the full build process, mast construction, furling systems, and launching.
