Westerly Storm 33 Cruiser
Description
The Westerly Storm 33 cruiser is modified version of the Storm 33 geared more towards cruising with a shorter rig and a more powerful engine designed by Ed Dubois (British naval architect, who modernized many Westerly models like the Griffon, Konsort, Tempest, and Seahawk; Dubois emphasized efficient hull shapes, good sailing performance, and practical layouts for cruising while retaining racing potential). Builder: Westerly Yachts (UK) — built in fiberglass to Lloyd's specifications, with a focus on sturdy construction (solid GRP hull/deck, no core in high-stress areas). Production was limited compared to earlier Westerlys (estimates around 100–150 hulls total, including Cruiser variants), as the company shifted focus amid market changes.
