Westerly 32 Fulmar
Description
The Westerly Fulmar 32 (often just called the Fulmar 32) is a classic British family cruiser/racer built by Westerly Marine Construction Ltd. in the UK from 1979 to 1992 (with a few later "Fulmar 33" variants built up to around 1996). Designed by Ed Dubois (a prominent naval architect known for performance-oriented yet practical yachts), it was one of Westerly's most successful models, with over 400 hulls produced—making it relatively common in the used market today. It succeeded the popular Westerly Griffon and emphasized balanced sailing performance, seaworthiness, and spacious accommodations for its size, available in fin keel (deeper draft for better upwind) or twin/bilge keel (shallower draft for drying out or coastal hopping) configurations. It's praised for solid GRP construction, easy handling (even short-handed), and good all-around performance—suitable for coastal cruising, club racing, or occasional offshore passages.
