The Morgan West Indies 36 (also known as the Heritage West Indies 36), designed by Charles Morgan and built by Heritage Yacht Corp. from 1976 to 1979 with about 40 units produced, embodies the designer's charter-oriented cruiser ethos through its keel/centerboard hull with skeg-hung rudder (draft 4.17 ft board-up to 7.40 ft down) and cutter rig, offering versatile shallow-water access for Caribbean gunkholing or bluewater passages while prioritizing docility and durability for East Coast or island-hopping sailors.
