Tartan T-42

Description

The Tartan 42 (often abbreviated as T-42), designed by Sparkman & Stephens (design #2095.2), was produced by Tartan Marine from 1980 to 1984, with 34 hulls built. This masthead sloop is a heavy-displacement bluewater cruiser with racer roots, featuring a fin keel with skeg-hung rudder for protected, stable handling (Scheel shoal draft on most for coastal access)—sleeping 6–7 in a spacious teak interior, and prized for its seaworthiness, powerful sail plan, and enduring value as an S&S classic.
