Tartan 34 Yawl

Description

The Tartan 34 Yawl, designed by Sparkman & Stephens (S&S Design #1904), was produced by Tartan Marine from 1968 to 1978 as a rare yawl-rigged variant of the popular Tartan 34C (centerboard model), with approximately 525 hulls built across the base series (yawl option selected on a small number, estimated <10% based on owner reports). This masthead yawl emphasizes balanced heavy-weather handling and light-air performance via split sails, paired with a keel/centerboard for shallow-water access—sleeping 5–6 in a cozy teak interior, and cherished as a classic coastal/offshore cruiser with timeless S&S lines.
