Tartan 30 Short Rig 3/4 Ton

Description

The Tartan 30 Short Rig 3/4 Ton, designed by Sparkman & Stephens (S&S #2016), was produced by Tartan Marine from 1970 to 1978 as the racing-optimized variant of the popular Tartan 30 series (606 hulls total, with short rig on most for IOR 3/4-ton class compliance). This masthead sloop prioritizes agile performance under handicap rules with a shorter mast for rating optimization, fin keel/skeg rudder for balance, and a lightweight hull for speed—sleeping 4–5 in a practical teak interior, ideal for club racing or coastal cruising as an affordable classic.
