Swan 76
Description
The Swan 76 is a majestic 76'0" (23.2 m) fiberglass maxi yacht designed by the legendary Sparkman & Stephens firm as a flush-deck racer-cruiser optimized for offshore racing and long-distance cruising, blending high performance with luxurious accommodations for extended voyages. Built by Nautor Swan in Pietarsaari, Finland, from 1979 to 1981 with only five hulls produced, it represents a pinnacle of the S&S era at Swan, featuring a deep fin keel for superior upwind pointing, skeg-hung rudder for balanced steering, and a masthead sloop rig with aluminum spars—delivering exceptional speed (hull speed ~9.5 knots) and stability through a high ballast/displacement ratio (24%) despite its heavy displacement/length ratio of around 300, making it stiff and sea-kindly in heavy weather but underpowered in light airs with a sail area/displacement ratio of ~15. Constructed with hand-laid solid fiberglass for durability and a flush deck for streamlined racing aesthetics, the teak-finished interior accommodates 6–8 in a spacious layout with multiple cabins, a full galley, nav station, and saloon, ideal for crewed expeditions or charter operations,
