Swan 59 Centerboard

Description

The Swan 59 is a renowned bluewater cruiser-racer designed by German Frers and built by Nautor’s Swan (Finland) from 1984 to 1990, with only 21 hulls produced. This masthead sloop combines elegant lines, fast passage-making capabilities, and spacious interiors for family or charter use, often featuring teak decks and customizable layouts with 2-3 cabins. The centerboard (lifting keel) variant, available as an option, uses a hydraulic system for raising/lowering, enabling access to shallow waters or marinas while preserving stability (draft reduces from 2.97 m / 9.75 ft down to 1.22 m / 4.0 ft up). It's constructed in fiberglass with a lead ballast bulb, emphasizing durability for ocean crossings.
