Swan 41
Description
The Swan 41 is a timeless 41'0" (12.5 m) fiberglass monohull sailboat designed by Sparkman & Stephens (design #2150) as a versatile cruiser-racer, built by Nautor Swan in Pietarsaari, Finland, from 1973 to 1977 with 61 hulls produced, emphasizing balanced performance under the IOR rule while offering offshore seaworthiness and family cruising comfort. Featuring a fin keel with skeg-hung rudder for protected steering and responsive handling, a masthead sloop rig (short or tall options), and elegant lines with a raked stem, moderate beam, and counter stern, it's constructed with hand-laid fiberglass for durability and a moderate displacement/length ratio (around 280) that delivers a hull speed of 7.5 knots—stiff and stable with a high ballast ratio (41%) for heavy weather confidence, though slightly underpowered in light airs per its sail area/displacement ratio of 16.3. The teak-accented interior sleeps 6–8 in a practical layout with V-berth forward, saloon settees, U-shaped galley, nav station, and quarter berth, ideal for coastal or blue water passages with good ventilation and storage,
