Surprise 25
Description
The Surprise 25 (also known as the Archambault Surprise 25) is a classic French one-design racing sailboat that's been popular since its introduction in 1977. Designed by Michel Joubert of Joubert-Nivelt Design and built by Archambault Boats (later BG Race in France), over 1,800 have been produced, making it a well-established class with an active owners' association (Aspro Surprise) that organizes regattas and events. It's renowned as a fast, responsive, and fun boat—often described as a "thoroughbred" racer that's equally enjoyable for day sailing, coastal cruising, or competitive one-design racing. Despite its compact size, it offers surprising performance and can accommodate 4 people comfortably for short trips or mini cruises.
