The Sonic 23 is a Canadian 23-foot masthead sloop designed by Joseph D'Alessio and first built in 1981 by Sonic Sailboats Ltd. (also referred to as Sonic Marine) of Etobicoke, Ontario. Production ran into the mid-1980s and was relatively limited (exact total quantity built is not widely documented but appears to be a low-volume model with only a handful of examples still actively listed or discussed today on the used market). It was developed as an affordable, trailerable pocket cruiser/daysailer with a focus on simple, solid fiberglass construction, offering basic accommodations for 4 (including a pop-up cabin section for increased headroom up to about 6'1") while delivering nimble performance suitable for coastal cruising or club sailing.
