Skipjack 15

Skipjack 15

Description

The Skipjack 15 is an American sailing dinghy designed by Harry R. Sindle and Carter Pyle (with Moorman also credited in some sources) and first built in 1965. This seminal design was initially built by Newport Boats in California, with production later transferred to New Design Sailboats of Benbrook, Texas after 1970, resulting in a total production run of 800 boats before manufacturing ended. The vessel was conceived as a versatile family daysailer that could bridge the gap between a technical racing skiff and a stable recreational platform, representing a key example of the mid-century American fiberglass dinghy revolution.
