Sigma 33 OOD

Sigma 33 OOD

Description

The Sigma 33 (specifically the popular Sigma 33 OOD – Offshore One Design version) is a successful fractional sloop cruiser-racer designed by David Thomas and built by Marine Projects Ltd. (Sigma Yachts) in Plymouth, UK, from 1978 to 1991. Approximately 364 of the standard Sigma 33 OOD were constructed (with an additional ~44 of the shorter-mast, shallower-draft "C" cruising variant for a total of over 400 across versions). It was developed as an affordable, capable offshore one-design that proved exceptionally popular for both competitive racing (including surviving the 1979 Fastnet) and fast family cruising, with many still actively sailed today in club fleets and offshore events due to its responsive handling, stability, and versatility.
