Description

Graham Byrnes' most famous sharpie design is the Core Sound 16 (CS16), a lightweight plywood/epoxy beach sharpie sailboat introduced in 1993 by B&B Yacht Designs. Hundreds have been homebuilt globally (exact numbers undocumented), featuring hard-chine hulls, swing centerboard, kick-up rudder, gaff sloop rig (leg-o-mutton option), and nesting capability for trailering—ideal for shallow-water day sailing, fishing, or family outings with exceptional stability and speed. Key features: self-bailing cockpit, 475 lb displacement, and versatile sail plans up to 145 ft².
