Shannon 38 Cutter
Description
The Shannon 38 is a classic heavy displacement bluewater cruiser designed by Walter Schultz with input from George Stadel III and George H. Stadel Jr. of G.H. Stadel & Son, first built in 1975 by Shannon Boat Company in Bristol, Rhode Island. Exactly 100 hulls were produced from 1975 to 1988 (some as ketches or pilothouse versions), using solid hand-laid fiberglass with teak trim, long or stub keel options, keel-mounted rudder, and cutter (or ketch) rig—prized for shorthanded offshore passages, elegant lines, and superior construction. Key features: teak bowsprit/coamings, 70-gal fuel/120-gal water, Perkins 40 hp diesel, and semi-custom interiors for 6.
