Shannon 37 Ketch

Shannon 37 Ketch

Description

The Shannon 37 Ketch is a heavy-displacement bluewater ketch-rigged sailboat designed by Walter Schultz, built starting in 1986 by Shannon Boat Company in Bristol, Rhode Island. Around 50-100 hulls were produced into the 1990s (part of the broader Shannon 37 line with cutter variants), featuring solid hand-laid fiberglass construction, stub keel with centerboard (draft 4'3"-7'6"), lead ballast, and teak interiors—optimized for shorthanded offshore passages with excellent stability and load-carrying. Key features: ketch rig for balance, 75-gal diesel, 400-gal water capacity, and proven circumnavigator pedigree.
