Watkins Seawolf 29
Description
The Seawolf 29 (also known as the Watkins Seawolf 29) is a 29-foot fiberglass monohull cruising sailboat that originated as the Watkins 29, designed in-house by the Watkins Design Team (with some references listing designer as unknown) and built by Watkins Yachts in Clearwater, Florida. Introduced in 1984 as a stretched and widened evolution of the Watkins 27 (with raised hull sides and no raised deck), it was produced until around 1988–1989, when the company was purchased by the McLaughlin Body Company and the sailboat line rebranded as Seawolf; later examples or badged versions appeared under the Seawolf name. The hull features solid fiberglass construction, a fin keel with rudder on skeg, internal ballast, and a masthead sloop rig. Production quantity for the Watkins 29/Seawolf 29 is not precisely documented in public sources but was limited (part of Watkins' smaller-volume output in its final years, with roughly 1–2 boats per month across models in the late period); the design was further modified in 1988 with a reverse transom to become the Watkins 30 (sometimes sharing serial number sequences).
