Seafarer 34 Sloop
Description
The Seafarer 34 Sloop is a classic American offshore cruiser-racer sailboat designed by McCurdy & Rhodes and built by Seafarer Yachts in Huntington, New York, USA. Produced in 1972 (with approximately 50–60 examples of the series built, including yawl and centerboard variants), it features a fiberglass hull with balsa-cored deck, a fin keel with skeg-hung rudder for protected steering and balanced tracking, raked spooned stem, and reverse transom. This masthead sloop prioritizes seaworthiness, responsive performance (PHRF ~150–160 for club racing), and comfortable coastal or moderate bluewater cruising, with a moderate SA/D for efficient handling in 10–20 knots and a high ballast ratio for stiffness in chop. The teak-trimmed interior sleeps 5–6 (V-berth forward, U-shaped saloon settees converting to doubles, quarter berth aft, galley with two-burner stove/sink/icebox, and enclosed head with shower), providing ~6 ft headroom and practical storage. A keel/centerboard (CB) option offers draft versatility (3.75 ft up / 7.00 ft down).
