Sea Wind 24 Catamaran
Description
The Seawind 24 (also marketed as Sea Wind 24) is a 24-foot trailerable cruising catamaran designed by Scott Jutson, first built in 1982 as the inaugural model of Seawind Catamarans in Australia. It was constructed primarily in fiberglass (single-skin GRP hulls) with twin daggerboards, a fractional sloop rig, and a lightweight displacement of about 2,000 lb, making it quick, stable, and easy to handle for coastal and protected-water cruising. Production occurred through Seawind Catamarans (AUS) under Richard Ward (who took over early operations), with some U.S. licensing or assembly involving Luger Industries and efforts by figures like Chris Williams and Martin Hadley to expand into the American market. Over 350 boats were built, establishing it as a benchmark small cruising catamaran of its era with successful exports to the U.S., Japan, Europe, and beyond; construction emphasized performance and simplicity rather than heavy luxury, though hulls were noted as built on the light side
