Sea Swinger (Suncatcher in 1974)

Sea Swinger (Suncatcher in 1974)

Description

The Sea Swinger (later renamed Suncatcher in 1974) is a lightweight foam dinghy sailboat designed by the Snark team, introduced around 1970 by Lockley Boats (purchased from Siltronics of Oakmont, Pennsylvania), initially built with polyurethane-sprayed hulls before switching to vacuum-formed ABS plastic. Part of the Snark product line with tens of thousands produced through the 1970s-1980s (exact quantity undocumented but aligned with high-volume Snark siblings like Super Snark's 30,000+), it features unsinkable foam construction, lateen rig, daggerboard, and portable design for recreational use—easy to store, launch from beaches, and handle solo. Key features: durable, colorful, low-maintenance, and beginner-friendly like its Snark family.
