Schock 34 GP
Description
The Schock 34 GP (Grand Prix) is a rare American high-performance racing sailboat, designed by Bruce Nelson and Bruce Marek (Nelson/Marek) as an International Offshore Rule (IOR) racer. Built by W.D. Schock Corp. in the USA in 1985, only 3 hulls were ever produced—making it an extremely limited-edition boat now out of production. It was developed as a lighter, taller-rigged racing variant of the related Schock 34 PC (Performance Cruiser), shedding about 1,850 lb (839 kg) in hull weight and gaining a 2 ft (0.61 m) taller mast for enhanced speed and power under IOR rules of the era. It's a fiberglass monohull optimized for competitive racing (e.g., club-level offshore or PHRF events), with a focus on lightweight construction, powerful sail plan, and agile handling rather than cruising comforts.
