Schock 23
Description
The Schock 23 (also known as the WD Schock 23) is a modern American trailerable pocket cruiser/daysailer/racer, designed by Steven Schock (with the wing keel by Finnish engineer Reijo Salminen) and built by W.D. Schock Corp. (USA) starting in 1999. It's a fiberglass monohull emphasizing light displacement for spirited performance, easy trailering/launching, and versatility—suitable for club racing, family daysailing, or short coastal/overnight trips. The wing keel provides shallow draft for beaching or shallow ramps while maintaining good stability and upwind ability. It's not a high-volume production boat but has a small, dedicated following, with examples occasionally appearing used (often praised for being quick, responsive, and fun in light-to-moderate winds). Owners note it's a "high performer" with low righting capability if capsized (best as a racer rather than heavy-weather cruiser), but stable/stiff in normal conditions.
