Description
The SCANNER 38 is a classic Swedish-built bluewater-capable cruising sailboat from the late 1980s to early 1990s, produced by Scanyacht AB (or related Scanmar/Scanner lineage) in Sweden. It shares design heritage and Scandinavian craftsmanship with the earlier Scanmar series (e.g., Scanmar 33, 345, 40 by Börjesson Brothers/Rolf Magnusson) but represents a distinct model under the Scanyacht/Scanner branding after the original Scanmar company ceased operations around 1991. The design emphasizes seaworthiness, balanced performance, spacious three-cabin layout for privacy and family cruising, graceful lines, and reliability in varied conditions—often described as a "spacious and reliable bluewater sailboat" with excellent sailing characteristics.
